El Redal is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. The municipality is under the local jurisdiction of Calahorra and was included in what is known as the Ocón Valley. It stands on a plain to the northeast of Villa de Ocón. This is a farming town and increasing numbers of vines are being planted at the expense of the town's almond trees. The remaining farm land is planted with olive trees, barley and fruit and vegetables (mainly mushrooms and wild mushrooms). There are also large pastures where flocks of sheep graze.

Founded by the people of Arnedo in the early Middle Ages, it's name means «small city of Arnedo». It belonged to the Counts of Nieva and the Dukes of Frías. In 1862, Carlos II granted it the title of town and also its independence from Arnedo. It belonged alternately to Burgos and Soria until the province of Logroño was created.
