Almarza de Cameros

La Finca de Ribavellosa, with 200 hectares of surface area, situated in the municipal district of Almarza de Cameros, belongs to the Autonomous Body of National Parks (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment). It's a unique landscape of exceptional beauty and ecological wealth, accessible thanks to the almost 12 km ofself-guided trails open to the public and well-signposted. They are all easy access for mountaineers, families, hikers or cyclists, where you can see good examples of the major forest ecosystems of La Rioja (beech, pine, gall-oak, holm oak, …..).

Ribavellosa offers the visitor an ideal place to enjoy, understand and interpret the conditions of the natural environment, and learn to respect it. To do so, the property has numerous interpretive panels on vegetation and fauna, and with aVisitors' Centre and a small exhibition of natural elements.

The visitor can also make use of the facilities open to the public, such as strong>picnic areas
, sports facilities (with football fields, fronton court and basketball and indoor soccer courts), or thechildren's areafor our smallest visitors, also with specially adaptedtoilets.

Arnedillo

Situated in the former quarry loading area, 800 m from Arnedillo. It is a centre for observing and interpreting the booted eagle which is unique in Europe.


In 2002 it was given first prize for "Sustainable tourism in protected natural spaces", awarded by EUROPARC-Spain ( European Association of Nature Parks).


From the centre visitors can watch the behaviour of the colony of booted eagles and their chicks live, via a monitor screen installed in the room which shows the images transmitted by a radio-controlled video camera on the cliff face.


The centre is home to a complete dusplay of the biology of wild fauna found in the area, with special attention to the booted eagle. It also offers the chance to observe the different habitats of the area through telescopes and binoculars.

Situated in the former quarry loading area, 800 m from Arnedillo. It is a centre for observing and interpreting the booted eagle which is unique in Europe.

Azofra

This new botanical garden offers nature lovers an immense space packed with trees, flowers, and palnts from all over the world.

Seven areas displaying 600 species: maple wood, apple orchard, olive grove, rose garden, the lagoon, the poplar grove and the greenhouse.

The best way to get there is turning off at Km. 32 of the N-120 Logroño-Burgos highway. The visitor must head for Azofra, find the Pilgrims' Refuge and take the Old Lane from Azofra to Hormilla which leads directly to the Botanical Gardens.

The vist takes an hour and a half.

Tierra Rapaz es un parque de aves rapaces dedicado a la educación medio ambiental, cuyo objetivo prioritario es acercar la ciencia y el estudio sobre estas aves al visitante de una manera divertida y apasionante. En él, se dan a conocer diversas áreas de la biología de estas majestuosas aves como el desarrollo embrionario en un ave rapaz, la cría de sus pollos, sus habilidades para cazar y comportamentales, sus amenazas y problemas de conservación y muchas cosas más. Aprender y divertirse es ahora posible en un parque para todas las edades.

Parque de La Grajera

Logroño

El último enclave del Camino de Santiago a su paso por Logroño resulta ser uno de nuestros parajes más hermosos. El Parque de la Grajera, único parque natural de la ciudad, tiene una extensión de 87 hectáreas, 32 de las cuales corresponden a un embalse.

A lo largo de los años se ha ido desarrollando en el parque uno de los ecosistemas lagunares más importantes de nuestra región.

El Ayuntamiento, consciente de su interés y belleza, ha intervenido en La Grajera plantando árboles, trazando caminos, creando infraestructuras y zonas estanciales.

Durante el buen tiempo, La Grajera recibe a multitud de visitantes que acuden al parque para pasar el día y tomar contacto con la naturaleza. También se organizan numerosas excursiones de escolares, niños que durante todo el año llenan el Aula Didáctica que existe en el parque para aprender todo lo relacionado con el medio ambiente.

El Parque de La Grajera ofrece la oportunidad de perderse en la naturaleza a unos 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad. Una vez allí, las posibilidades son variadas: Aula Didáctica, zona de recreo, cafetería y restaurante, caminos alrededor de la laguna y del Campo de Golf. Éste, de cuidado diseño, ofrece al jugador 18 hoyos, un par 72 y 40 puntos de tiro, ludoteca para niños mayores de 5 años, tienda especializada, piscina y pista de pádel.

The site of the centre, at the entrance to  la Sierra de la Demanda, makes it possible to carry out many activities related to the environment of the region, and for this to be a dynamic space to learn in a pleasant way the basic knowledge required for a visit to a fragile environment.

An ideal parkland to visit La Rioja with children, a pleasant walk, which, together with the explanations given by the instructor, will discover the characteristics of the different species, how they live, their curiosities and the difficulties they face in their natural environment. All accompanied by the spectacular scenery of the Oja Valley.

How to get here:
Road direction Ezcaray  (LR 111), when leaving the last building of Sto. Domingo, take the first road on the left and follow the signs.
