el Rasillo

The water Sports Centre of the Club Náutico El Rasillo is in the González Lacasa reservoir, with access by road along a 400 metre turn-off between Ortigosa and El Rasillo. It belongs to the regional Government of La Rioja and offers leisure facilities, with a bar and restaurant during the whole year, as well as sports activities and boat hire in spring and summer.
It has parking, covered outdoor eating area, terrace, camping ground, jetty and floating swimming pool. Pedalos, canoes and windsurfing boards for hire, courses and boat-minding services.

Hormilla

This new botanical garden offers nature lovers an immense space packed with trees, flowers, and palnts from all over the world.

Seven areas displaying 600 species: maple wood, apple orchard, olive grove, rose garden, the lagoon, the poplar grove and the greenhouse.

The best way to get there is turning off at Km. 32 of the N-120 Logroño-Burgos highway. The visitor must head for Azofra, find the Pilgrims' Refuge and take the Old Lane from Azofra to Hormilla which leads directly to the Botanical Gardens.

The vist takes an hour and a half.

Ortigosa de Cameros


These are on the Encinedo mountain. To get to the entrance to the caves, you have to walk across the iron bridge from the shrine of Santa Lucia or via the path of the steps, from the village square.

They are the only caves in La Rioja prepared to receive tourist visits. The cave of La Pazis a total of 236 m. long. Spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, columns and other limestone formations. The cave of La Viña has a single opening for entry and exit, with a horizontal length of 114 m.

Tours are guided, in groups, and the complete visit takes about 1 hour.

The old lead mines are a place of great cultural and historical value in the Valley of Jubera.
 

the route is self-guided, and tourists can enjoy following the explanations of the interpretive panels that have been placed and which make reference to a historical and descriptive tour of the work in the mines.
 

Different aspects are explained:
Panel 1: The history of the site, from the beginning until the end of its exploitation.
Panel 2: Elaboration of the works inside the mines. Extraction of the mineral seams, work materials, security measures, etc.
Panel 3: Treatments of the lead outside the galleries: mills, decanters, dryers, etc.
Panel 4: Hydrogeology of Fuente de Los Túneles de Los Moros.

 

The space is open to the public interested. It is advisable to visit the mines in hours of daylight.
