tipo de documento semantico destination
Villarta-Quintana is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. This is essentially a farming village with small cattle and pig farms. The main crop grown is grain: wheat, barley, oats, rye and also some potatoes. Attempts have recently been made to grow other types of crop, such as broccoli, green beans and peas. There are three very different and separate populated areas in Villarta-Quintana: Villarta, Quintana and Quintanar de Rioja. Villarta is the main centre with the town hall, parish church, health centre and senior citizens' centre. New buildings constructed in the last few years and renovated old houses have slightly changed the appearance of the village. There are two gardens. In one of the gardens there is a picnic area and barbecue where various culinary celebrations are held. There is a pelota court, swimming pools and five-a-side football pitch on the far side of the village. Quintana is 800 metres away from Villarta. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery and a lot of vegetation. There is a picnic area and garden at the entrance to the village. Recently erected buildings contrast sharply with several dilapidated houses, which are an unmistakable symbol of the loss of population over the last few decades. Quintanar de Rioja is like an island deep in the province of Burgos. It is accessed via a new local road from Villarta or along the N-120 road from Castildelgado and Bascuñana (Burgos). Quintanar is in typically mountainous surroundings. There is a five-a-side football pitch. In 1998 the town council signed an agreement transferring powers to the residents regarding the management of local interests.
