Long Description:

It was settled by shepherds from Arnedo in the early Middle Ages. It was a village in Arnedo until 1789. It is a mining town and the mines themselves are underneath the town. Important archaeological digs were carried out here and valuable evidence from the Pleistocene era was discovered.

-Height: 925 metres.
-Economy: The municipality has lost its population as a result of the coal mines closing in 1967. The municipality's few remaining inhabitants earn their livings by farming the land and breeding animals.
