In 1020, Sancho III gave the municipality of Ventosa to the San Millán de la Cogolla Monastery. The histories of the municipality and Nájera are linked. It is mentioned in the Nájera and Logroño charters. According to historical documents, there used to be a neighbourhood called Torseca between Ventosa and Santa Coloma.
