Long Description:

Valgañón is a municipality in the Upper Rioja area of the autonomous region of La Rioja. It is in the Ciloria Valley. It is in the northern part of the Demanda Mountains, surrounded by rugged peaks. These mountains include the Torocuervo peak (1933 m), the highest in the municipality.
-Location: The municipality is part of the district of Santo Domingo de la Calzada.
-Area: 31.66 km2.
-Height: 968 metres.
-Populated areas, neighbourhoods or villages: Anguta.
-Economy: Over the last few years, there has been a decline in the textile industry, livestock farming and forestry. Crop farming currently centres on fodder plants, while livestock farming is more and more cattle-based, although it is in continual decline.

Tourism resources:

Urban ensemble, mansions. San Andrés Chapel, in the town centre, dated 16th century. The Romanesque and Baroque Tres Fuentes Church, dated 12th century, has an impressive portal. There is a picnic area next to it.
