Long Description:

Tirgo is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. It is in the northwest of La Rioja in the area called Upper Rioja. There is an extensive water network over Tirgo's fertile plain, which is fed by the River Tirón and the nearby Ebro and Oja Rivers. The municipality is under the local jurisdiction of Haro.
-Location: It is part of the district of Haro. It is close to the Oja and Tirón Rivers.
-Area: 9 km2.
-Height: 501 metres.
-Economy: Tirgo is essentially a farming town and the most common crops are produced through a dry farming system: barley and grapes. Irrigated farming also plays a role, particularly potatoes, beet and garden vegetables. The majority of livestock farmed is dairy cattle.

Tourism resources:

Parish Church of El Salvador, 12th century Romanesque treasure.
