In 1169 it was given to the Santa María la Real Monastery in Nájera by Alfonso VIII. In 1850 it produced woollen fabric and it had its own hospital

Pedroso is divided into two districts: Bolinviejo, which is the lower part, with the abandoned San Juan Church, and Somovilla, which is in the upper part. The highlight of the Parish Church of San Salvador is the Late Gothic portal.
