Matute is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja.

The San Román Mártir Church was built in the 16th century in dressed stone and rough ashlar. It has two naves with three sections, chancels, and a choir at the base. The church has two portals: the south portal has the group of the Lamentation in the tympanum. In its interior it is worth mentioning the 16th century reredos.
