Long Description:

Manzanares de Rioja is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja.
-Location: It is part of the district of Santo Domingo. It covers the area around the Suso Mountains in the foothills of the Demanda mountain range.
-Area:17.84 km2.
-Height: 805 metres.
-Populated areas, neighbourhoods or villages: Gallinero de Rioja.
-Economy:The main activity is farming, particularly dry crops: barley and oats. Livestock farming and forestry also play an important role.

Tourism resources:

The La Asunción Church is situated in the centre of the village. It is a 16th century building in masonry and rough ashlar that has a single four section nave and a rectangular chancel. It has a high choir over wood at the base and a sacristy in the south area of the chancel.

Local festivals: Santa Teodosia, on the last Saturday in September; on Sunday, Thanksgiving. In Gallinero, a festival is held on the first Saturday in June and, on the last one, a pilgrimage to the Valvanera Monastery takes place, in which a lady mayor and a lady treasurer are nominated for the occasion.
