Fuenmayor is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. It is between the River Ebro and the N-232 road, next to the Castejón-Bilbao train line. This strategic location has helped the town's development. Young people from neighbouring villages and Fuenmayor itself call this town «Fuxu» or «Fuchu».

Monument ensemble. Late Gothic Santa María Parish dated 16th century with elements from the 17th and 18th century. It has three naves of the same height covered by a stellar vault, octagonal chancel with three facing walls, and tower with spire at the base. The choir and the stalls are the main highlights, as well as the Rococo organ. Magnificent 16th and 17th centuries’ palaces, with coats of arms, forge grill work, etc. Medieval mansions built in ashlar. City council. Cristo Chapel, El Carmen Chapel and Las Hijas de la Cruz Chapel.
