Long Description:

Fonzaleche is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. It is on a hillock near to where two Roman roads crossed.
-Location: It is part of the district of Haro.
-Area: 16.93 km2.
-Height: 563 metres.
-Populated areas, neighbourhoods or villages: Villaseca
-Economy: This town has been badly affected by its depopulation. The few remaining inhabitants live mainly off the land and the main crops are barley, wheat and grapes.

Tourism resources:

The San Martín Church is built in magnificent ashlar, it has three naves and a chancel finished with a semicircular Roman apse. The tower is dated 1880. Mansion of the Countess of Berberana. Houses with carved stone and noblemen coats of arms in the facades.

Local festivals: San Martín, on 11 November. Thanksgiving, on the third Sunday in September. On the Saturday after the Feast of the Ascension, a pilgrimage takes place to the La Junquera Chapel in Treviana. In Villaseca, the Virgen del Rosario festival takes places on the first Sunday in October.
