Long Description:

Canillas de Río Tuerto is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja.
-Location:It is part of the district of Nájera.
-Area: 3.5 km2.
-Height: 629 metres.
-Economy: The main activity is irrigated farming due to the water available from the Mansilla Reservoir. There is also a lot of potato farming.

Tourism resources:

The old part of San Martín Church, from the 16th and 17th centuries, is built in ashlar and the most recent part in masonry. The building has a rectangular floor plan with a single nave, transept, rectangular chancel, sacristy, and tower at the base. In its interior and exterior there are shields of the Counts of Hervías and Cidamón, that finished the building. The highlight is the 12th century Romanesque round baptismal font that has a great artistic value. It is also worth mentioning the shrine reliquary and the images of San Pedro and San Pablo in the presbytery, as well as the Baroque great reredos. Old Palace-mansion of the Zúñiga where the city council is situated (16th century).
