Long Description:

The city of Arnedo is in the Lower Rioja region of La Rioja and has a population of 14,548. The River Cidacos runs through the municipality. The city's economy centres on the shoe industry. The name Arnedo possibly comes from the Latin Arenetum, collective noun for sand.
-Location:It is part of the district of Arnedo.
-Area: 86.8 km2.
-Height: 550 metres.
-Populated areas, neighbourhoods or villages: Turruncún.
-Economy: Arendo is one of the most prosperous towns in La Rioja. Industrial activity is high, particularly in the shoe sector, which is a tradition inherited from the previous century. The main crops farmed in this area are typically Mediterranean, such as grain, grapes, olives and also fruit and vegetables. The Kan de Vico Medieval market is held in September.

Tourism resources:

Palatial house in ashlar and brick, with attics and arch galleries, from the 18th century. Remains of the impressive Roquedo Castle. Santo Tomás Church, with a Gothic portal and an enormous Classicist reredos, and Santa Eulalia Parish, from the 10th century with a Rococo reredos. The dressed stone construction is dated 16th century. It has three naves and a beautiful portal with six archivolts under the porticoes with 17th century images. San Cosme and San Damián Church. Ashlar stone building from the 16th and 17th centuries, with three naves with ribbed vaults, octagonal chancel, two portals, and tower at the base. In the interior, the main highlights are the Baroque reredos of the main altar and the sculpture of La Virgen de Vico, from the 12th century, and others of San Cosme and San Damián. Hospital and Oratory of La Magdalena. Building from the 16th and 17th centuries in which the main highlights are the Mannerist reredos with the image of La Magdalena. Cidacos Park, next to the river. Footwear Museum and Science Museum. Market on Thursdays.
