Aguilar del Río Alhama

Contrebia Leukade Visitors' Centre is an exhibition space where its different rooms evoke to the visitor, in an attractive and suggestive way, a city reinvented in a celtiberian world full of symbolism which reflects its everyday life, its customs, its military and strategic function, and the dreams and feelings of those who built it and lived there.

Divided in five rooms, it offers a vision of the celtiberian town: its physical location, its historical evolution, its military architecture, its houses, the animistic nature, its people, their stories... In this way, visitors will be captivated by the atmosphere of a historical period that turned this area of La Rioja and its people into one of the most attractive and imaginary places of the celtiberian world.

Brieva de Cameros

Traditional life is transformed and in any of its manifestations may even eventually disappear.

El “Rancho de Esquileo” de Brieva (Brieva Shearing Ranch) is a cultural manifestation that wants to teach young people past activities now gone, so they will be familar with and remember them.
The result is the renovation of a building that used to store wool after shearing, to turn it into a space to pay tribute to the figure of the Shearer and at the same time to the world of transhumance.

What is a Shearing Ranch? What are the facilities like? How are sheep sheared? How is shearing done?...

These are just a few of the questions we try to answer in a space specially designed for all types of users and adapted to people with visual impairment.

More than 120 million years ago, dinosaurs lived in this place. They lived in a unique setting, the ancient Tethys Sea, where they left their mark. Today we continue to be amazed by their habitat, their food, their way of life, hunting... i.e, the true natural setting of saurians. And we know it because palaeontologists have used all the tools available to them to discover the remains of one of the most amazing animals that have inhabited our planet.

Screening and exhibition area
On the top floor of the entrance building you can enjoy a 3D screening in which the dinosaurs are the stars. In addition, the exhibition area, located in the same building, explores the work of palaeontologists, with a sample of the materials used and the remains of an excavation. The exhibition is interactive, through games (puzzles and touchscreens) in which the visitor is the protagonist.
