Aguilar del Río Alhama

Contrebia Leukade Visitors' Centre is an exhibition space where its different rooms evoke to the visitor, in an attractive and suggestive way, a city reinvented in a celtiberian world full of symbolism which reflects its everyday life, its customs,its military and strategic function, and the dreams and feelings of those who built it and lived there.Divided in five rooms, it offers a vision of the celtiberian town: its physical location, its historical evolution, its military architecture, its houses, the animistic nature, its people, their stories... In this way,visitors will be captivated by the atmosphere of a historical period that turned this area of La Rioja and its people into one of the most attractive and imaginary places of the celtiberian world.

Albelda de Iregua

Almazara Valle del Iregua (Iregua Valley Oil Mill), in Albelda de Iregua (La Rioja), is the first oil mill in the Iregua Valley. Almazara Valle del Iregua is a company with state-of-the-art technology, mainly engaged in producing cold-pressed, non-filtered, extra virgin olive oils, at all times being committed to the quality of its products. Promoting olive growing and olive oil tourism through several activities and wine tasting courses. Almazara Valle del Iregua believes that consumers should know which are the best methods for obtaining extra virgin olive oil in all its glory. As a result of their commitment to quality, Almazara Valle del Iregua has adapted to the Organic Farming Legislation with cutting-edge machinery manufactured in stainless steel with two-stage extraction system. It also holds the Environmental quality standard ISO 14001. Another activity of the mill is the promotion of olive oil tourism through guided tours of the mill and and olive groves, as well as tasting sessions and courses on olive growing and oil technology.

It is a small Visitors' Centre about the Chestnut Tree and chestnuts, where its evolution, values and uses are explained.Chestnuts are a fruit traditionally rooted in our society of great nutritional and cultural value, but still very unknown gastronomically speaking.The aim of this centre is to give this fruit the justice it deserves and make it known in all its aspects.To do this, there is a series of explanatory panels, leaflets,an audio-visual reproduction, and gastronomic chestnut tasting sessions, roasted chestnuts or chestnut liqueur creams, etc.In the same space is a small shop selling all kinds of products made from chestnuts, as well as related tools.

Testimony to the lush vegetation which accompanied the winding course of the Ebro, where the riverbanks today represent privileged redoubts for wildlife. What in olden days must have constituted a wide, extensive riverbank passage following the Ebro on both banks today is broken up into stretches. Tiny enclaves with rich diversity.Entering deep into the thickets or approaching banks and beaches, means entering one of the richest and most varied ecosystems of our territory. Permanent exhibition and projection which tackles the nature reserve of the Riverbanks of the Ebro, the stork colony and the history of Alfaro.

Arnedillo

Situated in the former quarry loading area, 800 m from Arnedillo. It is a centre for observing and interpreting the booted eagle which is unique in Europe.


In 2002 it was given first prize for "Sustainable tourism in protected natural spaces", awarded by EUROPARC-Spain ( European Association of Nature Parks).


From the centre visitors can watch the behaviour of the colony of booted eagles and their chicks live, via a monitor screen installed in the room which shows the images transmitted by a radio-controlled video camera on the cliff face.


The centre is home to a complete dusplay of the biology of wild fauna found in the area, with special attention to the booted eagle. It also offers the chance to observe the different habitats of the area through telescopes and binoculars.

El edificio está situado en pleno casco antiguo del municipio calagurritano, en la calle homónima y ocupa el emplazamiento de la antigua ermita de los Santos Mártires. Se trata de una construcción moderna erigida en el año 2010 - 2011.La cubierta y las puertas presentan un diseño original,ya que están realizadas con estructuras metálicas de acero Cortén.El Centro de Interpretación "Casa Santa" de Calahorra se centra en los orígenes del Cristianismo, rememorando a los Santos Mártires. El emperador Constantino implantó el cristianismo como religión oficial en el año 313 d.C. mediante el Edicto de Milán. Pero previamente muchos cristianos habían sido objeto de persecuciones y martirios, sobre todo con el emperador Diocleciano.Entre ellos se encuentran San Emeterio y San Celedonio, patronos de Calahorra y legionarios romanos que sufrieron martirio junto al río Cidacos, en el Arenal.Poetas como Aurelio Prudencio Clemente se hicieron eco de su martirio y nos habla de un Baptisterio construdio en el solar que ocupa hoy la Catedral de Calahorra.

El museo destaca la importancia que ha tenido la elaboración tradicional de este calzado en la historia y cultura del municipio. Una forma de vida que ha hecho que Cervera del Río Alhama sea conocida como la cuna de la alpargata. En el museo se muestran desde los métodos de elaboración más artesanales hasta la producción más moderna.

As well as interpreting and explaining the geological and palaeontological aspects of the Region of La Rioja, visitors will be able to discover the interest aroused by this valuable legacy from the past and its importance in the context of Spanish European and world geology.Through various thematic spaces the visitor will be able to read and see a series of didactic messages which will take him on a fascinating journey through time,back to distant geological origins of La Rioja.Perhaps the most spectacular discovery in the area was a fossilised conifer trunk 11 metres long, this incredible trunk is 4 km. From the village, on the hill opposite the shrine of Our Lady of el Villar, and is right on the side of the Cornago road.
