Long Description:

Ábalos is a municipality in the autonomous region of La Rioja. It is in the Upper Rioja region, on the left bank of the River Ebro close to Haro. To the north it borders the Toloño Mountains and the Herrera Mountain Pass, to the south it borders San Asensio and Baños de Ebro, to the east it borders Samaniego and Villabuena de Álava and to the west it borders San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
-Location: It is part of the district of Haro.
-Area: 18.03 km2.
-Height: 589 metres.
-Economy: The main activity in this Riojan village is farming, particularly grapes.

Tourism resources:

Parish Church of San Esteban Protomártir. It was declared national monument. It is an ashlar building with a single nave covered with a stellar ribbed vault, whose Gothic facade is dated 15th century. The floor plan and the portal are dated 16th century, and the tower at the base is 18th century Baroque. The highlights are the 16th century Mannerist great reredos, which is said to be from the Beaugrant family workshop, and the valuable choir stalls. Palace of the Marquis of Legarda.
