La Moniquilla
tipo de documento semantico accommodation
The Casa Rural La Moniquilla takes its name from a bathing pool in the river Gatón, located on the road to the Fuente de la Salud, a little further on from the cave of Loreto, on the road that runs alongside the reservoir.
La Moniquilla is the first rural house in Mansilla de la Sierra, opened in the summer of 2010 and built in an old barn above the medieval bridge of Suso, rescued from the waters of the old village of Mansilla and rebuilt in November 2000 as a tribute to the memory of its inhabitants.
The house is tall, made of stone on the first two floors and dark red under the roof, like a lighthouse over the sea of the sierra, a viewpoint over the memory of Mansilla. In the living room there are large windows with the name of the house written on the glass. Inside there is a living room with a fireplace in the corner, the dining room and the kitchen. The new, rustic-style furniture is mixed with some antique pieces from the old village, which are distributed around the living room, above the fireplace or hanging on the walls: a bench or armchair with a wooden back and bulrush seat, a two-handed saw, stirrups, trivets, a copper cauldron, a sieve, two bushels, an iron plate, horseshoes......
Upstairs, on the two floors, there are five bedrooms with colours and names of places, rivers and nearby mountains: El Rodeo, El Gatón, Los Horcajos, Peña Pluma and Las Riberas.
It has 5 bedrooms, all of them with bathroom and shower.
